Descrizione: PACKAGING DEVELOPEMENT ENGINEER – JLR – The primary role of the Packing Development role within International Manufacturing Development is to support the introduction and on-going assembly of Jaguar & Land Rover product in overseas markets.
To ensure that all materials supplied meet the required standards of ergonomics, health and safety and ease of process, whilst looking to challenge cost in both materials and packing and unpacking process simplification.
The successful candidate will report to the Packaging and Quality Manager within International Manufacturing Development and will form part of a team that works with both internal (UK) and external (overseas) customers.
The successful candidate will be either accountable for delivering the packaging solutions in time to support build events as overseas plants as part of Jaguar Land Rovers global expansion.
Main Responsibilities:
– To lead the introduction and to maintain world class CKD component packaging for delivery to overseas markets.
– Responsible for ensuring that Packaging Development always takes into account quality, safety, packaging cost , ease of use, flexibility, cube efficiency, and environmental considerations.
– The initiate and lead the study of new packaging techniques in other industries and to benchmark these and implement them wherever suitable.
– Ensure compliance with packaging testing regimes in partnership with MIRA, HSE or alternative suppliers.
– To lead and control in a timely manner all packaging modifications that will be required to support engineering changes and other related activities.
– To challenge all aspects of packaging cost, to investigate potential savings and to test and to implement without compromise to the quality of materials being supplied.
– It will be a requirement of the role to travel to overseas markets, sometimes at short notice

Descrizione: INBOUND LOGISTICS SUPERVISOR – JLR – The logistics supervisor / manager will work as part of the Inbound Logistics team which covers a broad range of responsibilities including Inbound Freight Planning and Strategy; Contract Management (Operations and Finance), Plant Material Handling, Material Handling Equipment (MHE) and Current Packaging.
With responsibility for analysing current and future data, developing process improvements and managing change, the successful candidate will play a vital role in helping the department achieve budgetary and operational objectives to support JLR’s plans for increased volume, increased product range and globalisation.
Main Responsibilities:
– Support development of robust inbound logistics (freight, linefeed, packaging) plans for introduction of all new model and model year changes.
– Support central Purchasing teams with RFI and RFQ processes for logistics service provider selection.
– Provide accurate forecasting and manage budget control for Inbound freight operations including Launch.
– Drive continuous improvement, delivering best practice through benchmarking studies.
– Interface with Plant & Central Material Planning and Logistics, Finance, Purchase and Lead Logistics Providers in the delivery of business initiatives.
– Conduct Go Look See’s across various plant functions, recommending / advising on best cost and operational solutions
– Innovation and creativity – Looking for new ways of working and delivering original and imaginative approaches to problems.
– Management of Inbound Logistics contracts (freight, linefeed, MHE, durable containers) in line with commercial and operational service level requirements.
– Service Level Agreement creation, control and management including use of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
– Develop and implement key business processes.
– Support development, implementation and management of reverse logistics processes.
